The influence social media has on our choices

The influencers who run the social media platforms we follow are always trying to get us to buy something or to think a certain way- this is their job. The amount of unnecessary clothes and items I have boughten just because I saw an influencer wear them or own them is crazy. Just because I liked how they looked on her/him, I automatically thought I would like it on me. Sometimes this isn't the case and you don't like how it looks on you and it makes you frustrated and wonder why you don't look like the influencers you follow.

Does this look familiar? It should because it was posted but almost every teenage girl you follow on instagram. We we told by a random unknown account that we would win this swimsuit if we follow the instructions posted. Turns out it was scam but thousands of people were out there posting this picture because we follow the acts of others. It turned out to be a viral joke because of how stupid we all ended up looking.

On a different note, some people get their news from the internet. This is not a good idea. The media is a toxic place that is not reliable. There is so much fake news out there and biased opinions. There is also things posted that don't have enough context to make educational decisions on it.

Photoshop is such a huge thing now that we can never know if something is real of not. Take this

video for instance. It seems very real but it is photoshopped.
